In June 2011, Geneva Software underwent an independent appraisal for the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). This two week-long appraisal resulted in Geneva Software’s software development and management processes being assessed at CMMI Maturity Level 3. To reach this level, we demonstrated that we had defined and institutionalized processes for project management, engineering (analysis, design, implementation, and testing) and process improvement. We produced evidence, in the form of documentation, interviews and other artifacts, to prove that our processes are not only defined, but are used across multiple projects. We also were able to show that our project teams contribute to the continual improvement of our corporate processes.
Organizationally, Geneva Software will continue to compile and establish best practices, tools, templates, and standard procedures for use by the projects, and maintain quality checks to identify areas of improvement and proactively manage projects.
